JUST IN: 52 people shot; 6 DEAD

Chicago, Illinois has some of the toughest and strictest gun laws in the nation. Yet it is also one of the most violent and brutal cities to live in. Famously, President Obama grew up on the dangerous south side of the city. When holidays come around there is always a rise in the level of casualties law enforcement is forced to deal with.

Thanksgiving is absolutely no different. The Chicago Tribune reported that seventeen people were reported to have been shot. Two were fifteen year old boys and two were men. They were wounded in shootings that took place sometime between Saturday in the afternoon and the early hours of Sunday morning. Those results are just Saturday’s.

ABC7 Chicago reported that between 7 p.m. on Wednesday to early Saturday morning 36 people were shot. Four of whom died as a result of the injuries they sustained. The attacks were all over the city. In one incident, at 2:15 a.m. on Saturday two men carrying firearms fired at a house party on the 8800 block of South Exchange. One man who was 20 years old died on the scene from being shot. But the Cook County’s medical examiner has not released any information on the man.

Which brings the total up to 52 shot. Six of those were fatalities that resulted in death. Despite these bad numbers for Thanksgiving weekend it was nothing compared to the week of November 20-26.

During that week 80 people were shot and 15 of those people died. Over the course of 2016 a total of 4,031 people were shot and 650 were killed unfortunately. Only ten of those deaths were the result of police officer related shootings. Which makes for 1.5%

You would think that Black Lives Matter supporter would be concerned about the 650 people who died this year from gun violence in their neighborhoods. Instead of the 1.5% that were killed by cops. The tragedy is in the 640. No doubt these are predominantly minority fatalities as Chicago is predominantly made up minorities.

But no. The liberal agenda dictates they must play victim and that is what they will do. What they should really do is pray for those who have died.
