Keep the guns in the hands of the good guys and the world will be a better place.

(IJ Review) According to state DOJ statistics reported by the Sacramento Bee, California has sold more than 510,000 handguns in 2014

This breaks the long-standing record of 418,000 handguns sold in 1993 and doubles the amount sold in 2010.

Did Armageddon break out? Hardly.

Despite the record setting number of handguns sold in California, the number of homicides has gone down significantly.

There has been a spike in gun sales for other states with an assault weapon ban, too. Both Connecticut and New York have witnessed a significant rise in the number of guns sold in their state.

The rate of homicides in the state of California is now at a 20-year low, according to state records. The number of accidental gun related deaths has also decreased. The rate of gun-related suicides has risen in 2014, but only slightly.
