The ransom of American soldiers in Iran is still a topic of conversation in this presidential election. The Attorney General Loretta Lynch has plead the fifth in order to be quiet in the investigation that Congress is conducting over the $1.7 billion Iran ransom the Obama administration paid. By taking the fifth amendment she is allowed the right to not incriminate herself.
Back in the beginning of October Senator Mike Pompeo and Senator Marco Rubio specifically asked her questions pertaining to the cash payment given to Iran that was both approved and delivered. Both Rubio and Pompeo wrote a perfect response to her silence saying,
“essentially plead the fifth and refuse to respond to inquiries regarding [her] role in providing cash to the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism.”
Pompeo was angry about the Attorney General’s unwillingness to help following their meeting and questioning. A simple line of questioning about the Iran ransom deal has become a national controversy. Pompeo said,
“Who knew that simple questions regarding Attorney General Lynch’s approval of billions of dollars in payments to Iran could be so controversial that she would refuse to answer them? This has become the Obama administration’s coping mechanism for anything related to the Islamic Republic of Iran—hide information, obfuscate details, and deny answers to Congress and the American people.”
The Senator is absolutely correct. When the Obama administration is literally caught with there pants down their first go to is to lie and hide the truth. Because they know their is no hiding from their criminal wrongdoing. This is by far one of the biggest hardships the administration. The appearance of their arrogance and belief that they can do whatever they want whenever they want to.
