A mixed martial artist fighter was recently charged in the crime of beating two Muslim teenagers who were outside of a mosque in New York City, New York. The man is 31-year-old Christopher Vallaro who’s charged with attempted assault, assault, menacing and harassment. He reportedly beat a 16 and 17-year-old outside of the Muslim Community Center. It’s located outside of Sunset Park in New York.

The incident took place on July 3rd at 1:15 a.m. reported DNAinfo. The suspect allegedly called the teens terrorists during the attack but it isn’t being charged as a hate crime.

However, there is more to the story than what’s been reported. John Schiavone is the suspects uncle and according to him the teenagers confronted his nephews fiancée while she was trying to sit in her car. They made sexual comments to her while she was alone.

Schiavone said,

They were in the window telling her filthy things, he was just protecting her,” he said trying to defend his nephew.

Vallaro’s lawyer said the teenagers,

were putting their hands into the car, accosting her sexually.”

The suspect was inside his home that was close when the incident took place but when he came out of his house he them heard his fiancee screaming for help. Of course any man would be worried in that situation, it’s a completely normal reaction.

Vallaro proceeded to punch one of the teenagers in the face and his head several times right before he slammed him into the sidewalk and then kicked and stomped his head. He proceeded to chase the second victim that was riding a bicycle and grabbed him by the shoulders before throwing him to the ground. Then he punched him continuously in the face.

He allegedly shouted derogatory slurs at them.

WABC-TV reported he reportedly shouted,

f**king terrorist. You Muslims are the cause of all the problems of the world,”

The teens were treated for bruising, swelling, bleeding, scrapes and black eyes after the attack by Vallaro. The bail was set as $25,000.
