‘American Guns’ Shop Owner Charged With Theft After ATF Raid

From TheBlaze: The owner of a gun shop featured in the Discovery Channel reality show “American Guns” turned himself in on theft charges to local police a week after the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives raided his store.

Richard Austin Wyatt, 52, the owner of Gunsmoke in Wheat Ridge, Colorado, was charged with the theft of a set of antique guns, the Denver Post reported.

Citing the Wheat Ridge Police Department, the Post reported that the victim of the theft consigned a rare and antique gun collection with Wyatt in 2013. “Repeated efforts by the victim at recovering several of the weapons had failed,” police said in a news release.

Several guns from the collection were recovered during the ATF search that was part of a separate ongoing federal investigation, the Post reported. An ATF spokesman previously told TheBlaze that the March 31 raid on the gun shop lasted from 9:45 a.m. to midnight while executing a search warrant.
