Excerpted from Fox News: As the nation marks 13 years since the attacks of September 11, 2001, New York radio host Todd Pettengill is demanding more attention be paid to the June murder of 19-year-old Brendan Tevlin, calling it evidence that “domestic terrorism is already here.”
Appearing on “America’s Newsroom,” Pettengill blasted the lack of media coverage: “Where is the outrage? Where is the outrage for a young man — 19 years old — who was killed because he was an American? That’s it. There’s no two sides to this story. You can’t say ‘well, but…’ to anything about this story. Because the fact is he was killed because he was an American.”
Ali Muhammad Brown is accused of firing 10 shots into Tevlin’s Jeep Liberty when it was stopped at an intersection in West Orange, New Jersey. Brown allegedly told police that his mission was “vengeance” for the “millions of lives lost every day” in countries like Iraq and Syria. “All these lives are taken every single day by America, by this government. So a life for a life,” he told detectives, NJ.com reported, citing court documents.
“This kid was murdered because he was an American and that’s where the story should begin,” Pettengill said. “That’s where the discussion should take place because domestic terrorism is here. It happened. It happened in New Jersey.”
Pettengill hopes that the American public will get involved bring more attention to the case: “I hope that more people will use the hashtag #BrendanTevlin, will go to Facebook and check out the page that’s been dedicated to him… let this be the face that America sees and knows that domestic terrorism is already here.”
