Baltimore firefighters blast Obama’s ‘one fire’ lie; which of the 159 ARSONS was he talking about?

From BizPac: In an attempt to downplay the rioting that took place in Baltimore last week, President Obama claimed that TV news outlets repeatedly looped the same fire on news segments.

Union officials have just one question: Which fire was he talking about? Firefighters responded to 159 fires during Monday’s rioting.

Obama shared his thoughts on the rioting that took place the night before at his Tuesday media conference with the Japanese prime minister.

“Point No. 4, the violence that happened yesterday distracted from the fact that you had seen multiple days of peaceful protests that were focused on entirely legitimate concerns of these communities in Baltimore,” he said, according to Real Clear Politics. “Led by clergy and community leaders, and they were constructive and they were thoughtful, and frankly, didn’t get that much attention.”

Then he claimed the media had overplayed the evening’s violence.

And one burning building will be looped on television over and over and over again, and the thousands of demonstrators who did it the right way, I think, have been lost in the discussion,” he claimed. “The overwhelming majority of the community in Baltimore, I think, handled this appropriately. Expressing real concern and outrage over the possibility that our laws were not applied evenly in the case of Mr. Gray. And that accountability needs to exist and I think we have to give them credit.

Although he stopped short of actually saying there was only one fire that was set in Baltimore Monday, the implication was nonetheless there.

The Baltimore Sun reported that on Monday night alone, those “peaceful protesters” who “did it the right way” set 159 fires. Also 20 police officers injured and 235 arrests were made.

Those fires included 15 buildings and 144 vehicles set ablaze. The Sun reported:

Violence ruled Baltimore Monday night, after the funeral of Freddie Gray, with numerous fires breaking out around the city, several shootings were reported, and city schools and business closed. Gov. Larry Hogan declared a state of emergency, and will set up his department at an office in Baltimore.

Apparently, Obama doesn’t subscribe to the Sun.

But there was one group that didn’t need to subscribe, because they were there — that was the collection of firefighters that actually went into the heat of battle fighting each blaze.

Their representative, the International Association of Fire Fighters, had but one question for the president’s “one building burning” assertion — which one exactly was he talking about?

The union even provided Obama with a little visual aid in case he was still confused.

And the the IAFF’s Baltimore local, whose members were probably still worn out from chasing fires all over the city, agreed:

Too bad a representative from the Baltimore Fire Department wasn’t covering the president’s news conference — maybe we could have found out which fire he was talking about — the CVS fire, the senior center fire or one of the other 157.
