An armed Black Lives Matter supporter who once posted a picture of Black Panthers with guns to Facebook with the message “BY ANY MEANS NECESSARY!” in a threat to whites, and apparently police, was shot and killed by a St. Anthony police officer after refusing orders not to reach for his gun during a traffic stop in Falcon Heights, Minnesota, Wednesday night.
According to CBS News, Minnesota, St. Anthony Police officers pulled over Castile who was driving with his girlfriend, Diamond Reynolds, in the passenger seat. Reynolds’ daughter was also in the vehicle.
Castile’s girlfriend began live-streaming the event to Facebook after he was shot.
Here’s the original video from Reynolds’ Facebook:

Reynolds’, while recording the video, is heard saying that they were pulled over for a “busted taillight,” and that Castile is “licensed to carry” a firearm. She continued, “He let the officer know that he had a firearm. He was trying to get out his I.D. and his wallet out of his, um, pocket, and the officer just shot him in his arm.”
The officer who shot Castile, clearly distraught, can be heard saying, “F-CK! I told him not to reach for it! I told him to get his hand out!!!”
Reynolds later indicated to those watching the live-stream video that the officer who shot Castile was “Chinese,” and she described his apparent height & weight.
It’s unclear if Reynolds was appealing to her viewers to take revenge against the officer.

In Reynolds’ video, Castile is seen bleeding out.
A video posted to Twitter by a witness shows officers attempting CPR on Castile.

Castile was a member of a small group on Facebook dedicated to the “Crips” gang.
At the time Castile posted the Black Panther picture with the call for violence against whites on his Facebook page, Samir Shabazz, a regional leader of the New Black Panther Party, called for the killing of white babies. Prior to that, Shabazz was charged with intimidating white voters in Philadelphia in the 2008 election. Obama later had the charges dismissed.
An unknown person started a Twitter account after Castile was shot. The account posted a Tweet referencing Black Lives Matter, and followed musical artist, Beyonce, who is known for her “black power,” anti-cop, pro-Black Panther halftime performance during this year’s Superbowl.
“By Any Means Necessary” is also the name of a violent, anti-white, militant group that has been tied to attacks on police, whites, and Trump supporters.
It’s unknown if Castile was a member of the group.
