Black House Members Blame Republicans For Dallas Shooting, Calling Them “Co-Conspirators”

After the fatal shootings of several law enforcement officials and two African American men in Dallas, Texas, Minnesota, and Louisiana the Congressional Black Caucus has renewed their long standing calls for gun control and police reform. Because the deaths of police officers is the perfect time to politicize gun violence.

The Daily Beast reported,

“Caucus members listed a number of actions the group wants to undertake: a meeting with Attorney General Loretta Lynch and FBI Director Jim Comey, a police-reform bill sponsored by Rep. John Conyers (D-MI), and votes on universal background checks and “no fly, no buy” legislation.”

Caucus members sharply criticized their Republican counterparts on what they deemed inaction on gun control and police brutality. Specifically, Speaker of the House Paul Ryan who received the most castigation.

Rep. Cedric Richmond (D-LA) said,

“When we look at this Congress, we can do nothing but conclude that they are co-conspirators in the devaluation of the lives of men and women of color.”

The Speaker gave a speech on the House floor in which he called for peace and cooperation.

“Every member of this body—every Republican and every Democrat—wants to see less gun violence. Sometimes we disagree passionately on how to get there.”

Unfortunately, every time a African American is killed and their is a tragic incident of gun violence the go to line of Democrat’s is to tighten the leash on law abiding citizens by restricting their constitutional right to keep and bear arms.

Incidents such as these play right into the Democratic and progressive narrative.

This is the largest attack on law enforcement since September 11th, which comes right after the largest terrorist attack in Orlando since September 11th. Whatever has happened in the past, if it’s any indication of the future, it’s just a matter of time before something else happens.
