Raise your hand if you’re tired of hearing about the pity parties that all the privileged Americans are having right now. Especially the crazy left, who’ve decided to take up centuries-old grievances that have long since been done away with. We all completely understand that slavery is bad, that’s kinda why it was done away with. However, it did happen, and we do have to remember what happened, otherwise we erase parts of our history that make us, us.
As the protests that center around monuments of slave owners are increasing in number and aggression, hopefully, you’ve asked yourself honestly whether the protesters have a point. Are we actually insulting someone by having monuments to historical figures who messed up in some way? Well, firstly I don’t think most of us thought about it one way or another before this. If you’re like me, you just try and hurry the history buffs through those sites so you don’t have to hear any more about it than necessary. We’re all thinking about it now though.
Rioters and famous people alike are all taking sides and seeing who can yell the loudest about their point of view. There’s been an especially big ruckus from sports players who are protesting the national anthem and such just because they disagree with the President or the monuments. At least one former NBA star has a handle on the situation though. Charles Barkley has a whole list of things that we should be working on fixing, and monuments of long dead leaders aren’t anywhere on the list.

The debate has been rising in America over whether or not we should tear down Confederate statues. Some liberal extremists like Al Sharpton are even talking about tearing down the statues of Thomas Jefferson and George Washington because they owned slaves. However, former NBA star Charles Barkley slammed liberals for wasting so much time and energy on statues
‘I’m not going to waste my time worrying about these Confederate statues; that’s wasted energy. You know what I’m gonna do? I’m going to keep doing great things; I’m going to keep trying to make a difference, number one, in the black community, because I’m black, but I’m also going to try to do good things in the world,’ said Barkley in an interview.
‘I’m not going to waste my time screaming at a neo-Nazi who’s gonna hate me, no matter what; and I’m not going to waste my time, trying to, worried about these statues that they’ve got all over the country,’ said Barkley. ‘So do you leave them up, or do you — ‘ asked the interviewer.
‘I’ve always ignored them. … Rick, I’m 54 years old; I’ve never thought about those statues a day in my life. I’ve never — I think if you ask most black people, to be honest, they ain’t thought a day in their life about those stupid statues. What we as black people need to do, we need to worry about getting our education; we need to stop killing each other; we need to try to find a way to have more economic opportunity and things like that,’ said Barkley.
‘Don’t waste — those things are important and significant. I’m wasting time and energy screaming at a neo-Nazi, or ‘Man, you gotta take this statue down,” said Barkley. Do you think he’s right? Check out the video below.”

This guy makes a great point. There are plenty of things that need to be attended to in this world, but this pissing war about national parks and landmarks isn’t one of them.
Many of Barkley’s fans were thrilled to see this video, and they said so on Twitter.

He speaks truth. There’s so much political rhetoric that we’ve lost sight of the actual purpose; making the lives of everyday Americans better.

This truly is a problem that’s getting completely out of hand. Those who think that these statues should come down are a lot of the same people who think that they’re above the law, and if there’s a chance they’ll get away with these crimes, they’ll go ahead and vent their anger with bullets and baseball bats.

Barkley is saying what we should already know by default. Making sure that less people die in the here and now is so much more important than taking out revenge on a vendetta settled years ago. This uproar is nothing more than the emotionally immature coming up with reasons to act out their rage and get away with it. There’s no honor among thieves, and there’s no truth among rioters.
