Linc Sample put up large lawn sign about gun rights that reads “Black Rifles Matter” on his front lawn in Boothbay Harbor, Maine. NOW the Liberals are pissed. The sign is placed on his property and the Town Manager Thomas Woodin says that Sample is exercising his First Amendment rights to free speech, and has all the proper permits for a sign of that size explaining that, “there isn’t much the town can do about it,”
The hippie looking Director of the local Chamber of Commerce, Rick Prose said, ” he is basically bastardizing the black lives matter slogan…(long dramatic pause)… for guns. We have received a few complaints from visitors to the region,” Prose even went as far as to claim that it’s affecting tourism in the area,”Some of these people have cut their vacation short and left early,”. REALLY? What kind of people ‘leave town’ over a sign? I’m dubious that anyone told the Chamber of Commerce Director that… I mean WHO on vacation is going to take the time of looking up and successfully find the Chamber of Commerce Director… probably another hippie.
There definitely were mixed feelings about the sign from tourists. One tourist said the sign is attention-grabbing, and polarizing and that, “People are ignorant. They shouldn’t be putting things out like that. It’s taking a shot obviously at Black Lives Matter.” Yet another tourist was happy about the sign and said, “I think they’re doing the right thing. Massachusetts has a ban right now, and I think they should lift it.”
Sample explained that he put up the sign because, “that’s really a trigger for me — the assault weapons ban. It really is about pushing the narrative a bit. They’re being targeted because of their appearance, fair enough. So are my rifles.”
He said he used the phrase “Black Rifles Matter,” a play on the phrase “Black Lives Matter,” to have impact. The BLM movement calls attention to police brutality in the U.S.
“If anything, they should be flattered I used the phrase,” said Sample.
