Pretty much everybody knows that rap star Kanye West is a complete and utter idiot, even those who like the stuff he passes off as music.
There has been no shortage of incidents over the years which prove that Kanye is an egotistical, self-absorbed, narcissistic self-described messiah.
The most memorable occurrence of Kanye’s self-important actions was in 2009, when he interrupted Taylor Swift‘s acceptance speech at the MTV Music Video Awards.
Now Kanye may have topped that idiotic action with a near repeat at this year’s Grammys, when he charged the stage as if he was going to interrupt singer/songwriter/producer/all-around-artist Beck, who was accepting the award for Album of the Year.
Instead, Kanye settled for dishing out a disrespectful and idiotic rant aimed at Beck, implying that he wasn’t a true artist and demanding that he hand his award over to pop singer Beyonce.
Manson took to her Facebook page with an epic rant against Kanye, calling him out for being disrespectful towards a true artist like Beck.
“It is YOU who is so busy disrespecting artistry. You disrespect your own remarkable talents and more importantly you disrespect the talent, hard work, and tenacity of all artists when you go so rudely and savagely after such an accomplished and humble artist like BECK,” she wrote.
She continued by saying that his actions made himself look petty, small and spoiled.
“In attempting to reduce the importance of one great talent over another, you make a mockery of all musicians and music from every genre, including your own,” Manson wrote. “Grow up and stop throwing your toys around. You are making yourself look like a complete tw-t.”
While I would respectfully disagree with her assessment of Kanye’s “remarkable talent,” which is little more than spewing racially charged lyrics over beats created by someone else along with marrying an equally self-absorbed airhead who became famous from releasing an amateur porn tape, we agree with Manson’s comments nonetheless.
Kanye certainly is petty, small and spoiled, and the fit he pitched was definitely the equivalent of a child throwing his toys around.
Perhaps one day Kanye will realize that he isn’t the center of the world, and while that will likely come as a shock to him, he will simply be joining the reality that the rest of the world is already living in.
Kanye West is an arrogant and untalented hack, and he should be forewarned that “real” artists don’t take kindly to hacks criticizing the artistry and hard work of others like them.
