With the entire country talking about American Sniper and its opening weekend of success, it was to be expected that misguided idiots on the left would have something bad to say about America’s military.
Michael Moore took the lead and fired the first shot against the military – snipers in particular – when he labeled snipers as “cowards” in a tweet posted earlier this morning.
One former Army Ranger and one of America’s top snipers, Nick Irving, was interviewed by Fox News’ Elizabeth Hasselbeck and asked about Moore’s comments on military snipers, to which he said three pivotal words: “Moore wasn’t there.”
“I don’t think [Moore] deserves the breath that I’m about to give, but I’ll just say Michael Moore wasn’t there in Afghanistan and the last time I checked, he’s never shot anybody with a scoped rifle,” were Irvings powerful and exact words, accordingto Fox News.
For Moore to comment on anything remotely having to do with the U.S. military is nothing short of a joke that should be immediately dismissed. But due to the success of the Kyle film coupled with Moore’s insatiable appetite for attention, Moore couldn’t resist taking a shot at true American heroes.
When Hasselbeck asked Irving, also known as “The Reaper” in military circles for his impressive enemy kill count, if Moore owed him a “thank you” instead of insults, his reply was epic.
“I don’t really care what he gives me, a ‘thank you’ or not,” he said. “A lot of good guys and a lot of my friends died for his right to freedom of speech. I’m not really worried about what he has to say.”
An earlier guest Fox & Friends had on the show, a former Marine who played a wounded Marine in American Sniper, pointed out that the massive success behind the American Sniper book and movie is thanks to more Americans “standing behind… warriors and their families.”
