It hasn’t been a quiet week so far with news of the Susan Rice scandal consuming much of people’s attention and now the use of sarin nerve gas in Syria. However, there’s something else percolating behind the scenes that has gone largely unreported and now 20 million Americans are in imminent danger.
Millions of residents from South Carolina to New Jersey are bracing themselves for a tornadic storm heading their way that has already leveled buildings and flooded roads from Georgia to Indiana, CBS News reported. While the outcome of this weather event could change in a second, the country is no stranger to the devastation Mother Nature can cause. The difference today is that we now have a capable Commander-in-Chief who won’t leave these citizens in the cold should people become displaced in the aftermath.
“Tornadoes, hail, flash floods, and high winds caused damage from the Deep South to the Midwest on Wednesday,” CBS News correspondent Mark Strassmann reported. “At least nine reported twisters touched down, one destroying several buildings in south Georgia, reports.”

A deluge of rain and hail is pounding South Carolina right now and lightening is striking across the area leading to house fires. The storm is responsible for at least two reported injuries so far, but thankfully no deaths. Residents are urged to seek cover and avoid going outdoors at all cost. The extreme weather is expected to last for at least the rest of the week.
As terrifying as this situation is and the tragic outcome it can end in for people and their property, there’s some comfort in knowing that our president won’t ignore these victims like the former administration did. Trump won’t be enjoying leisure time in warmer locations on taxpayers’ dime while people wait for a response that will never come. This was a hallmark of Barack Obama’s time in office who has thankfully been replaced with a proactive president.
