For as much as liberals have refused President Donald Trump’s travel ban, even getting judges to block his every executive order on the matter, it comes as a surprise that they would pass their own travel ban — that is until it’s found out who they’re excluding. In a move that defies their own argument against Trump’s “Muslim ban,” the state of California just stuck it to thousands of residents in their state who are now having to urgently make new plans.
The sole exclusion within California’s travel ban is even crazy for that state who never ceases to amaze the rest of the country with their anti-constitutional idiocy. While Trump’s travel ban was aimed at protecting Americans from the potential of terrorism coming in from terrorist-tied countries, California is hoping to prevent pro-family principles from becoming too popular in America.
California state employees hoping to travel to Texas, Alabama, South Dakota and Kentucky are completely out of luck since their government says they can’t now.
Democratic Attorney General Xavier Becerra added Texas, Alabama, South Dakota and Kentucky to the list of places where state employee travel is restricted. Lawmakers passed legislation last year banning non-essential travel to states with laws that discriminate against lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people. North Carolina, Kansas, Mississippi and Tennessee are already on the list.
California taxpayers’ money “will not be used to let people travel to states who chose to discriminate,” Becerra said.
It’s unclear what practical effect California’s travel ban will have. The state law contains exemptions for some trips, such as travel needed to enforce California law and to honor contracts made before 2017. A spokesman for Becerra couldn’t provide an example of travel that would be blocked. Becerra’s office also couldn’t provide information about how often state employees have visited the newly banned states.
Texas was added to the list because of a law that lets child welfare organizations deny services and adoptions to families because of “sincerely held religious beliefs” that Becerra’s office says would allow LGBT discrimination. Similar laws were enacted in Alabama and South Dakota. Kentucky’s new law could allow LGBT discrimination in schools, according to Becerra’s office.
“While liberals around the country were busy complaining about President Trump’s travel ban that sought to stop the onslaught of outrageous aggression, the liberals in California made their own travel ban against religious expression. According to a new California law, public universities are no longer allowed to send students to states that oppose gay rights,” PSE blog wrote. “Athletes have been told not to expect any games with rivaling teams from states like Tennessee, Kansas, or North Carolina. The logic is that California doesn’t want taxpayer dollars going to states that hold conservative, pro-family principles.”
What’s truly disturbing about this, isn’t the already known fact that liberals will go to great lengths to silence and even punish those who disagree with them — it’s that they are prioritizing gay rights over someome’s ability to get an education wherever they so choose. It’s not the state’s right to tell a student where they can and can’t attend college which they earned through hard work, nor can they say an athlete can’t compete with the others because of what state he comes from. Nothing in this new rule asks the student or athlete what their personal opinions are on gay rights anyway, not that is should matter since they earned a right to compete and attend college.
Nothing in this new rule asks the student or athlete what their personal opinions are on gay rights anyway, not that is should matter since they earned a right to compete and attend college. “They want to withhold students from educational opportunities like interstate conferences, research seminars and symposiums, and speaking engagements simply because they disagree with the governmental policies of the state in which the events take place,” PSEagels explained.
Liberal policies are never about employing real change as nothing positive will come out of this for the homosexual agenda. The only motive is to impose their views on everyone else and punish anybody who disagrees. Perhaps hindering the educational experiences of other is a backhanded way of keeping kids indoctrinated in liberal schools and perpetuating their ideas in developing young minds.
What Trump is doing with his travel ban is protecting Americans for the time being until the vetting process can simply get sorted out to be more effective. On the contrary, California is intentionally and dangerously isolating people with no stated affiliation to a different belief system than theirs. This is much different than preventing travelers from terrorist-tied countries who don’t pass a certain level of screening that proves their intentions to either be innocent or not.
