According to New Yorker’s, Jane Mayer and the Washington Post there are reports that FBI Director James Comey, acted alone when yesterday just 11 days from the election he disclosed that the new emails that have been discovered may or may not be relevant to the agency’s infamous CLOSED case. That being, Hillary’s email scandal case.
By informing Congress of the evidence he now has “jerkface” Attorney General Loretta Lynch and her Justice Department officials on his tip. Why? Well their “opinions” were disregarded. Naturally the opinion of NOT wanting the FBI director to release such information is the one they hold, because they don’t want the news affecting or having influence on the upcoming election.
So in other words, just let the American people vote for a candidate that they wouldn’t otherwise vote for if they knew she was under FBI investigation?
Look, guilty or not guilty Hillary has brought this on herself. She should have never, NEVER gone private with her server that she kept in her freaking bathroom. It was that choice that brought this on, therefore, she needs to own it and deal with the consequences.
The American people should not have information withheld from them just because it’s inconvenient for Hillary. She already gave up that comfort when she made a bad choice and continued to make bad choices to cover it with lie upon lie upon lie. Oh and THOUSANDS of purposely deleted emails.
Comey knew the DOJ would be down his throat on this, and that it was violating the very guidelines the Justice Department is holding against him now. However, he felt obligated to do so for the important fact that he had promised members of Congress he would inform them of any and all further developments related to the case.
Comey acknowledged that it was unprecedented for him to inform Congress of an incomplete investigation, but explained that:
“I feel an obligation to do so given that I testified repeatedly in recent months that our investigation was completed. I also think it would be misleading to the American people were we not to supplement the record. At the same time, however, given that we don’t know the significance of this newly discovered collection of emails, I don’t want to create a misleading impression. In trying to strike that balance, in a brief letter and in the middle of an election season, there is significant risk of being misunderstood, but I wanted you to hear directly from me about it.”
He has a good point, don’t you agree? He was worried that after he briefed a team of investigators that media would get a hold of the information and leak it to the public. By doing so, it would make it seem that he was creating a cover-up. He’s already been dubbed a “weasel” and felt that just being forthright would be the best and most transparent way to move forward.
