John McCain has been working with democrats and republicans in a bipartisan effort to determine how Russia and their President Vladimir Putin interfered with the American presidential election. However, this is not making many Donald Trump supporters happy. The Senator has now admitted to the press it was him who leaked the unverified information to Buzzfeed that showed potential ties between Russia and Donald Trump.
The story has been making headlines and the Trump administration has been warding off liberal reporters who have treated these allegations as facts despite their unverified nature.

The reporter who broke Watergate, Carl Bernstein, was allegedly involved in the transfer of this rumor from one media outlet to another. Bernstein alleges that McCain’s involvement was far deeper than anyone has admitted or knows. The reporter told CNN,
“a former British ambassador to Russia independently was made aware of these findings, and he took the information to John McCain…McCain was sufficiently disturbed by what he read to take it to FBI Director James Comey himself personally, they had a five-minute meeting.”
He attempted to downplay McCain’s negligence in his handling of the information that was given to Federal Bureau of Investigation Director James Comey by claiming they had a brief meeting. The level of attention this story has been receiving is unjust. The reports are unverified which means they should not even be considered until the intelligence community confirms.
The recent release of salacious gossip certainly confirms what the President Elect has been saying all along which is that the media treats him unfairly. Given these unverified reports that are being treated as facts that would certainly appear to be true. Which is exactly why he refused to answer questions from CNN after they helped to fuel these unverified reports. As he said, they are fake news.
