After an all-night camp out on the capitol floor, Democrats and even some RINO Republicans didn’t get what they want when their worst nightmare came true. In a first move of its kind, Vice President Mike Pence was called in at the last second to break the tantrum up over one hated woman the left definitely didn’t want in President Trump’s cabinet for a surprising reason.
Despite overwhelming opposition from the left and an all-night fight to prevent it, Trump confirmed wealthy donor Betsy DeVos as his Education Secretary today. Pence was the tie breaker of the deal, providing the 51st vote for her out of 100 total, siding with the Commander-in-Chief on his nomination and sealing the deal.
Although she’s been heavily involved in education and is a huge proponent of tax-funded vouchers, which provides underprivileged children the opportunity to attend charter schools, liberals are particularly upset about her filling this position. DeVose has been a big donor in education and mostly involved in charter and private schools, with little to no experience in the public school system. This is concerning to the left who assume that she doesn’t understand the needs of public school kids but fail to see that she could improve the system with her experience. However, what they are really concerned about is worse.
Their major issue seems to be that she’s not concerned with sexual assault on college campuses, with total disregard for what could really fix that which has nothing to do with what she can do. DeVos can focus more on making education better and less with preventing sexual assaults on campuses if schools of higher education allow their students to conceal carry a firearm, which as adults, is their constitutional right anyway.
Perhaps what’s most concerning, is that several Republicans voted against Trump’s nominee, which could foreshadow problems in the future when his more contentious items of legislature come up. Ultimately, everyone who fought him tooth and nail all night wasted their time since by the morning our capable leadership made the best decision and told the complainers to go home.
