Donald Trump in his short time as President Elect has been more of a friend to Putin than President Obama has in his eight years in office. It appears the relationship between Russia and the United States will be far more amicable once Trump takes office. Now, the President Elect is labeling the Russian President as very smart for his choice not to retaliate against American sanctions towards Russia.
Look at Donald Trump’s tweet here,
Great move on delay (by V. Putin) – I always knew he was very smart!

This past Friday President Obama announced to the media that he was sanctioning thirty five Russian diplomats and expelling them from the United States. Among numerous other sanction. These were a result of the intelligence communities determination that Russia was involved with hacking Democratic operatives and groups during the election.
A classified CIA assessment that has now been circulated on the internet reportedly determined that Russia had interfered with the election in order to get Donald Trump elected. However, both Trump and the Kremlin have denied such accusations.
In response to the sanctions Vladimir Putin has refused to retaliate against President Obama. He instead expressed a desire to work towards friendlier relations with Donald Trump once he is inaugurated.
To make matters worse. Donald Trump pinned his tweet about Putin meaning it is the first one anyone sees on his Twitter page when they visit it. It is very clear that Donald Trump is sending a clear message. Trump said the following in reference to the alleged hacking incidents,
“I just want them to be sure, because it’s a pretty serious charge, and I want them to be sure. If you look at the weapons of mass destruction, that was a disaster, and they were wrong. And so I want them to be sure. I think it’s unfair if they don’t know. And I know a lot about hacking. And hacking is a very hard thing to prove. So it could be somebody else.
I also know things that other people don’t know, and so they cannot be sure of the situation.“
No matter what happens it is very clear that things will change drastically once Donald Trump takes the oath of office. We will see a completely new relationship between the formerly feuding countries. Whether it is for better or worse, only time will tell.
