From Mad World: There’s no doubt that Barack Obama has this nation and its foreign affairs headed down the toilet, but former President George W. Bush has always had the common courtesy not to say anything. However, despite acknowledging his lack of desire to re-enter the political realm, he’s finally exposed the world to his opinion about Obama – and it is perfect.
The remarks were actually made behind closed doors of the Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas during a Republican Jewish Coalition session. The hotel’s owner, Sheldon Adelson, also attended the session where, lucky for us, he transcribed it.
Bush has always exercised a sort of “respect” for the current president – not the man, the position – and hasn’t publicly criticized Obama since relinquishing control. That notion still holds true today, as he states he doesn’t want back into the political circles, but he had some remarks for like-minded folk during the private meeting.
It was at that time that Bush explained how Obama has made America appear weak on the world’s stage by placing us in “retreat” around the world. Take for instance Iraq — Obama used our troops and the progress America had made to gain political favor among the American people during an upcoming election.
Heck, who wouldn’t like the man who brought our troops home?
However, when he did, he left a vacuum in the area, allowing for another entity to takes its place – in this case, ISIS. Bush called this a “strategic blunder,” but that’s putting it politely. You see, according to Bush, Obama was supposed to have negotiated “a new status of forces agreement to keep U.S. forces there past 2011,” but he failed to do so.
Bush went on to label the terrorist organization as the “second act” of al-Qaeda. Using the example of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed, who confessed to killing Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, Bush proudly declared that the terrorist is rotting in a cell right now.
“Just remember the guy who slit Danny Pearl’s throat is in Gitmo, and now they’re doing it on TV,” he said.
Too bad the same can’t be said for the killers of Foley and Sotloff.
Bush talked about other things, such as Putin, stating that the Russian President was power-hungry, stubborn, and didn’t have a “win-win” attitude. He also went on to say Putin’s “popularity comes from his control of Russian media,” adding, “Hell, I’d be popular, too, if I owned NBC news.”
Sadly, that seems to be the exact case here in America – although Obama doesn’t own the news, they choose to treat the man like a god on their own. Perhaps the biggest indicator of this was during a recent article in BloombergView with Josh Rogin writing:
For George W. Bush, the remarks in Vegas showed he has little respect for how the current president is running the world. He also revealed that he takes little responsibility for the policies that he put in place that contributed to the current state of affairs.
The laughable comments show the level of blindness the left has pertaining to Obama. Despite the fact that it’s been 6 years now, with Obama having plenty of time to be walking down his own path at this moment – it’s still Bush’s fault.
That’s the thing about Bush though, he actually knew the definition of the word “accountability.”
