CHICAGO (FOX 32 News) –
Authorities are trying to track down two males who videotaped themselves attacking and taunting an elderly passenger on a CTA Blue Line train, then uploaded the video to social media.
This video was posted on Facebook and it shows two males, who appear to be teenage boys, taunting and laughing at the man. At least one of the males slaps the man. The incident happened on a westbound Blue Line train approaching Racine.
Police were notified about the video Thursday and are trying to determine when the attack occurred and who the victim was, according to News Affairs Officer Bari Lemmon. The CTA is assisting with the investigation.
CTA spokesman Ibis Antongiorgi says the attack was never reported to CTA or police officials, but that it’s turned the video over to Chicago police.
The CTA is pulling additional surveillance footage to assist with the investigation and is asking any riders who witnessed the attack to come forward with information.
Police say incidents like this are rare, but if you see anything on a train or bus, report it immediately.
