This is some serious sh*t right here, folks. The CEO of a company that provides network security and monitoring has threatened to kill Donald Trump.
The company has responded to his threats.
Matt Harrigan is President and CEO of PacketSled. According to its website Packetsled is “a next generation network security tool providing continuous monitoring, threat detection and network forensics in the cloud and on premise.” The company is based in San Diego, California.
ABC’s News 10 covered the story.
According to Harrigan’s LinkedIn account,
“Matt Harrigan is a security industry veteran. He is accredited with inventing and popularizing the practice of commercial penetration testing in Kevin Poulsen’s NY Times best selling book “Kingpin.” In 1994, Mr. Harrigan founded MCR, where he rolled out the industry’s first MSSP. He is the former president of NSS Labs, the industry’s leading security product performance laboratory. Prior to NSS, Mr. Harrigan was a Vice President for Trustwave (TWAV). He currently serves as the Chairman of Critical Assets, a security R&D hotbed that The Pentagon looks to for innovative security concepts, and is the CEO of Packetsled, leading the charge on the next generation of big data security analytics solutions.”
Last week, Harrigan posted to his Facebook account that he plans on buying a sniper rifle and killing Donald Trump. His Facebook posts which were apparently made only to his friends, were leaked and posted to social media on Sunday.

Harrigan has ties to Jim (James) Woolsey, former director of the CIA under Bill Clinton. Woolsey became Trump’s senior adviser on national security back in September.
Here is a post Harrigan made to his Facebook in October.
PacketSled’s official Twitter account posted a response to the assassination threat.
Their response was also posted to their website. The statement reads:
“PacketSled takes recent comments made by our CEO, seriously. Once we were made aware of these comments, we immediately reported this information to the secret service and will cooperate fully with any inquiries. These comments do not reflect the views or opinions of PacketSled, its employees, investors or partners. Our CEO has been placed on administrative leave.”
According to a Reddit user who called to report Harrigan, the Secret Service is already aware of the threats and is investigating.
Once the news broke, Harrigan offered an apology, saying that it was a “flawed joke.”
We did a quick scan of Harrigan’s Twitter account, and found that he had made negative comments about Trump before. He is definitely not a fan, and it’s most likely he is trying to avoid prosecution.
Here are a few of his posts:
Here are a few of Harrigan’s Tweets critical of Trump.
As a CEO, Harrigan definitely has the means to follow up on his threat. His threat to kill Trump could even cause others to seek to carry it out on their own.
As a person who has shown he already hated Trump before he was elected to be the next president, the threats he made in private should not be taken as a joke, but as ones coming from the heart. Harrigan believed only a few close friends saw what he posted to his Facebook. He told America to “f*ck off,” and dared the Secret Service to “bring it.”
No person in their right mind would threaten to kill a president-elect. Harrigan has clearly gone over the edge, and his threats should be taken seriously. The Secret Service is charged with protecting President-Elect Donald Trump. They should arrest Harrigan immediately, and bring charges against him.
Share this if you believe Harrigan should be imprisoned for threatening to kill the next president of the United States!
