Chicago, IL. – Antonio Perkins was posting a live stream video to Facebook when he was shot. Perkins was hanging out with friends in the North Lawndale suburb of Chicago on Wednesday when the shooting occurred.
The Washington Times reported that Perkins was a suspected gang member, and that he had served two years in prison for the production of heroin.
Perkins, who went by the street name of “Cicero Yayo,” is seen drinking with a large number of people who were hanging out on a Chicago street.
MediaTakeOut News posted the short version of the video which shows Perkins being killed. After he is hit, Perkins apparently rolled around on the ground with his phone in his hand as the camera picks up blood covering the grass.
The full length version was posted by a Facebook user. The shooting occurs at about 6 minutes into the video. Screams of those who were trying to keep Perkins alive can be heard even as the video goes black. Later in the recording, the man’s phone ringer can be heard repeatedly going off as news spread of the gangland killing.
A friend of Perkins posted a picture of him in a Black Lives Matter shirt, and warned that blood will be shed over his killing, indicating a looming Chicago gang war.
The text on the shirt, “I can’t breath,” is in reference to the death of Eric Garner, a 43-year-old black man who resisted an NYPD officer’s attempt to arrest him. Garner was placed in a chokehold, and told the arresting officer that he couldn’t breathe. The officer released him, but Garner later died. Charges were filed against the officer, but a Grand Jury decided he was innocent of any wrong doing. Al Sharpton led mass protests along with BLM over what they perceived as “injustice.”
Perkins’ friend who warned of gang retaliation also shared a picture on Facebook from another BLM member who blamed black deaths on a “racist” America. The recent terror attack in Orlando, Florida was given in juxtaposition by the BLM supporter.
The text under the picture reads:
STOP LYING AMERIKKKA! THE GAY CLUB SHOOTING ISN’T THE WORSE SHOOTING IN AMERIKKKLAN HISTORY. BUT YOU DON’T ACKNOWLEDGE US LIKE YOU DO THE GAYS AND OTHERS. WE BEEN DYING UNDER THIS AMERIKKKA FLAG. OKLAHOMA IS JUST ONE INCIDENT. #STOPIT #NOMOREWHITELIES
Not surprising, Another BLM friend that Perkins regularly mentioned posted a picture to Facebook in 2012. In the post, Perkins’ friend writes that his dad was in the “paper” with President Obama.
Perkins posted this video of himself smoking marijuana a few years ago.
Police are still investigating Perkin’s gang ties.
At last check, it appears that family, or someone with access to Perkins’ Facebook page are deleting posts that may paint him in a negative light.
