Chicago at night resembles Syria… a war zone. You hear shooting constantly. The only thing that would make it more realistic would be bombs, but I’m sure that’s coming. One commenter said, “Looks like Chicago, sounds like Aleppo.” True enough. Even in the dead of winter, the killing goes on there. Since liberals have mostly disarmed everyone but criminals, it’s easy pickings for them.
Whether you go to the store and get caught up in a robbery, or get gunned down walking your dog, it hardly matters… dead is dead. And Chicago excels at death.
Teenagers are routinely gunned down just for standing on the sidewalk. Mothers are blown away while pushing their babies in their strollers down the street. The police simply can’t keep up with the explosive growth rate of crime in the city. Drive-by shootings happen every hour of the day in every neighborhood of Chicago. The odds of making it to old age in the Windy City are not good by any means.
From ABC News:
CHICAGO — A man was killed and at least five other people were wounded in shootings on Chicago’s South and West sides since Friday evening, according to Chicago police.
The fatal shooting happened Friday night in the Chatham neighborhood on the South Side. Just after 10 p.m., the 34-year-old man was shot in the chest by someone he knew during a fight inside a home in the 8000-block of South Evans, police said. He was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The Cook County Medical Examiner’s Office could not immediately provide information on the death.
Area South detectives were questioning a person in custody early Saturday, police said.
Most recently, a man was shot and seriously wounded Saturday morning in the Princeton Park neighborhood on the South Side. The 28-year-old was shot in the upper right thigh at 6:21 a.m. in the 9100-block of South Wentworth, according to police. Acquaintances drove him to Little Company of Mary Hospital in Evergreen Park, and he was being transferred to Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn in serious condition.
The refrain is heard almost as often as the fatal gunshots: The way to reduce Chicago’s gun violence is tougher prison sentences for repeat gun offenders, keeping them off the streets and decreasing the city’s mounting death toll. That won’t solve it… the prisons will simply overflow with criminals. The New York Times says that bodies are piling up at the intersection of depression and rage. That’s accurate, but where does that come from? From the Progressive policies of liberals that cause poverty and want and then in turn cause more crime to blossom.
Living on Chicago’s West Side where you pray a bullet won’t come zinging through a window or wall and kill you or someone you love, means mornings where dead bodies are in the streets and someone has to clean up the blood. The blue lights, the yellow tape… all of it hauntingly normalized and sanitized in the news.
“It’s about desperation, decadence, depression and rage,” the Rev. Marshall E. Hatch Sr., who has given eulogies for at least 12 victims of violence this year, says of the district, home to his New Mount Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. “It’s the concentration of all of that, all in one place.” All of that stems from Marxist politics such as those of Barack Obama and Rahm Emanuel. Perhaps President-elect Trump can help Chicago become more than a killing field and not just another war zone at night.
