BREAKING: Ted Cruz Introduces Constitutional Amendment

Ted Cruz just shocked the country when he and U.S Rep. Ron DeSantis proposed an amendment to the United States Constitution that seeks to impose term limits on Congress members.

Because lifetime politicians rot in the swamp and you’re stuck with the same ol thing for an eternity. There’s no energy left in congress and it needs to be adjusted and we need fresh life, blood, and energy in our government.

Ted Cruz doesn’t mind draining the swamp if it keeps the swamp waters revitalized every six years, as his amendment would limit senators to a two terms of six years each. Members of the House of Representatives would have three two-year terms.

This keeps the creative minds thinking, helps prevent long-term backdoor deals that don’t help the greater good, and it keeps us on our toes. Keeps Congress on their toes too! I’m not saying deals happen, but deals might happen.

No longer can Congress members sit around inactively earning a lifetime salary. Not that they do that (do they), but if the Cruz and DeSantis amendment passes, then we’re in for a lot of freshly active faces to help develop an amazing Congress that works for everyone.

Ted Cruz expressed that D.C. is broken. This is his way to help Donald Trump drain the swamp and replace it with fresh water. I’ll take purified water at this point. It doesn’t even have to be fresh spring water. And certainly not that water up there in Flint, Michigan!

I like what Cruz and DeSantis are doing. It shows initiative and the genuine interest in rebuilding government and making sure things are done the right way.

Every government position should have term limits. If the President does, then so should everyone else.

Doesn’t make sense for the leader of the country to be limited to two four-year limits, but watch other people stay in office longer.

Ted Cruz website reports: WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) and U.S. Rep. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) today proposed an amendment to the U.S. Constitution to impose term limits on members of Congress. The amendment would limit U.S. senators to two six-year terms and members of the U.S. House of Representatives to three two-year terms.                       “D.C. is broken,” said Sen. Cruz. “The American people resoundingly agreed on Election Day, and President-elect Donald Trump has committed to putting government back to work for the American people. It is well past time to put an end to the cronyism and deceit that has transformed Washington into a graveyard of good intentions.” Cruz continued: “The time is now for Congress, with the overwhelming support of the American people, to submit this constitutional amendment to the states for speedy ratification. With control of a decisive majority of the states, the House of Representatives, and the Senate, we have a responsibility to answer the voters’ call-to-action. We must deliver.” “Term limits are the first step towards reforming Capitol Hill,” said Rep. DeSantis. “Eliminating the political elite and infusing Washington with new blood will restore the citizen legislature that our Founding Fathers envisioned. The American people have called for increased accountability and we must deliver. Senator Cruz has been instrumental in efforts to hold Congress accountable, and I look forward to working with him to implement term limits.”“President Trump, Speaker Ryan and huge majorities of the American people are demanding term limits,” said U.S. Term Limits President Philip Blumel. “Congress must listen and pass the Cruz-DeSantis amendment immediately.
