The Kansas City Police Department has a real problem. Just days ago, Capt. Robert Melton was executed by a Black Lives Matter thug. They are still mourning his passing. Twice since then, they think someone may have shot at their officers. Both incidents involved a motorcycle officer who was out helping with duties surrounding the shooting death of Melton. Investigators still don’t have solid physical evidence that the shootings occurred, but they are continuing to investigate. You can bet it happened and will continue to do so.
Sunday, as officers were answering a call, they were fired upon. This was obviously an attempted ambush. They did not catch the thugs who did it and are still looking for them. Shell casings were found. If it is even possible, the police are now on even higher alert there and situational awareness is through the roof.
From Blue Lives Matter:
Just days after the shooting death of Capt. Robert Melton last week, Kansas City police officers were forced to seek cover again after shots were fired at them while on a service call near Quincy Avenue and Thompson Avenue. The incident happened about 11:55 p.m. Sunday night. Multiple shell casings were found in the street near Smart Avenue and Quincy Avenue, which is just north of where the officers were when the shooting began.
Kansas City Police Department is investigating if the initial call may have just been a set-up to ambush responding officers.
“We were walking down and I heard bang, bang, bang, bang, bang,” said Carol Hansen. “Four cops were running, had their guns out and said ‘Get down or go home quick, they’re on the loose!”
As officers are becoming more aware than ever of possible ambushes, their response time to incidents will likely increase as they take the time to scout out the area before responding. This means those they would normally protect are more or less on their own. It also means that more people will probably die. These are the unintended consequences of hunting and assassinating those who protect us and it is utterly predictable.
Not only are police officers being targeted, former and current military personnel are now being hunted and attacked. This has got to stop and we have to get a handle on it or we will find ourselves under martial law with military in our streets. Our officers are going to be forced to fight back with deadly force and this isn’t going to end well. Just as it was planned all along.
