Eleanor Holmes Norton says ‘you don’t have a right to know’ what’s going on in government
[sociallocker]Elanor Holmes Norton who is the non-voting congressional delegate for Washington DC spewed her nonsense during a congressional hearing on Friday that in fact the White House shouldn’t be held accountable for scrutiny, further relaying that its no one’s right to know what happens behind closed doors.[/sociallocker]
[pull_quote_center]”You don’t have a right to know everything in a separation-of-powers government, my friend. That is the difference between a parliamentary government and a separation-of-powers government,” Norton said during a House Oversight and Government Reform Committee hearing.[/pull_quote_center]
Her statements are extremely far from what voters these days want, a government that is open and transparent to prevent abuse and corruption. But when you have something to hide of course you want to ensure it stays behind closed doors. And this is the type of behavior this administration has allowed to take place as they target opposition groups.
