The acting Attorney General, Sally Yates, has tried to order the Justice Department to NOT follow President Trump’s Executive Order that restricts travel from seven terrorist influenced areas.
She worked under the Obama administration and believes the Executive Order is not lawful. However, what she believes may differ from what is reality and now she’s paying a dear price for it.
As we broke last night after President Trump’s announcement was made of terminating her effective immediately, we now know who her replacement is and she isn’t too happy about it. Dana Boente, U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia is not taking over where Yates failed to follow Trump’s very lawful executive order that’s not unlike what every president before him has done.
“My responsibility is to ensure that the position of the Department of Justice is not only legally defensible, but is informed by our best view of what the law is after consideration of all the facts. In addition, I am responsible for ensuring that the positions we take in court remain consistent with this institution’s solemn obligation to always seek justice and stand for what is right,” Sally wrote in the letter she sent.
“At present, I am not convinced that the defense of the Executive Order is consistent with these responsibilities nor am I convinced that the Executive Order is lawful.”
The White House had no comments on this order. However, Senior Adviser to the President Stephen Miller considers Yates’ action to be a “demonstration of how politicized process has become.”
Judging by Stephen Miller’s reaction, it seems like we need to take the politics out of politics and put some common sense and logic back into our government.
We need to make sure we’re not acting on feelings or what we believe, but facts and logical solutions that protect our country, help our economy thrive, take care of veterans, and ensure that our country is moving in the right direction.
We move right along, we don’t stay left behind.
When people in government get on board with the safety executive order that was signed by President Trump, then we can get more people working together. Once people work together, they can tweak the travel restrictions, vetting process, immigration policies, and make sure everything works perfectly.
Sometimes working “as designed” doesn’t solve the problem. The government needs the democrats to at least make an attempt to see the point of view held by republicans.
Trump’s executive order, regardless of it’s lawful declaration, is signed, sealed, and delivered. Now it’s time to inform the public that the executive order is NOT a #MuslimBan, but an added layer of security to protect everyone in our country from potential terrorists.
This protects liberals and illegal immigrants too, so I don’t know what everyone is protesting about.
Just get vetted and get over it.
And by the way….
