An estimated 30,000 protesters are showing up for the Democratic National Convention. It far, far, far overshadows the Republican National Convention last week, which aside from some morons throwing urine and feces at police officers was rather tame. Not so in Philadelphia. These are hardcore Bernie Sanders supporters and they want to burn it all down and wage civil war against Hillary Clinton.
The freak show got rolling yesterday as they started marching in the streets there. You have anti-Hillary, pro-Sanders protesters… you have communists, socialists, Marxists, radicals, militants, racists, freaks and uber liberals. And don’t forget the anarchists. Many of the Sanders crowd is now throwing in behind Donald Trump because he is anti-WTO and anti-NATO. He’s also anti-trade and that is a big deal for these people.
From The Federalist Papers Project:
Remember before the Republican convention when the media said there would be violent protests unlike anything we had ever seen?
Well, with the exception of some nitwits throwing urine and feces at each other, it was pretty peaceful.
That’s not the way it’s shaping up in Philadelphia though.
Still a day before the Democratic National Convention even begins, there are thousands of Anti-DNC, anti-WTO, anti-Hillary, pro-communism and pro-socialism demonstrators surrounding the Wells Fargo Center.
The very first protest march is already “far bigger” than anything seen in Cleveland last week.
Police are out in force and a wall has been built around the Wells Fargo Center perimeter to protect the elitist Democrats. The irony and hypocrisy is strong with this one.
From the New York Times:
A large, impassioned crowd of Bernie Sanders supporters — chanting “Hell, no, D.N.C., we won’t vote for Hillary” — marched on Sunday afternoon to the site of the Democratic National Convention, promising a week in which the party’s divisions will be on vivid display in the streets.
More than 1,000 people from as far as Seattle and Florida participated in the first of what are expected to be many Sanders rallies during the convention, which formally begins Monday. The march, led by a banner proclaiming “Help End Establishment Politics, Vote No on Hillary,” was far larger than any of the protest marches last week in Cleveland at the Republican National Convention.
The media is saying the protesters are ‘Berning’ with anger. Catchy. They are mad at the Democratic establishment and an electoral process many protesters called “rigged.” These people are saying that the DNC is dead to them. It’s not leftist enough for their tastes. They are celebrating the resignation of Debbie Wasserman Schultz, who immediately became the national campaign chair for Hillary Clinton.
Among the Sanders delegates, Solomon said “there’s talk about walking out of the vice presidential and presidential acceptance speech, there’s talk about total silence, remaining seated, turning backs.” One pedestrian was more succinct in calling the mood as he saw it, shouting from the sidewalk, “Party unity is a damn joke.”
Looks like the circus is in full swing and it will be a wild week. Frankly, I could care less at this point.
