Rania El-Allou had to get her car back. Her son was caught driving the car illegally and the car was taken. Skip ahead to a court date in Montreal, Canada, and El-Allou stands before the honorable Judge Eliana Marengo. Keep in mind, El-Allou is Muslim and was wearing a head scarf, however the court room is not religious and nothing is permitted to be worn on the heads of people entering it. No sunglasses, hats, or decorations of any kind.
That’s where it went downhill for El-Allou and her hijab. Judge Marengo instructed her that it was not permitted or suitable attire for court and stated the courtroom is a “secular” place which does not have religious symbols on walls or persons.
El-Allou did not agree and would not remove her hijab. The judge did not give one single rat’s butt about this woman’s religion. They’re here to talk about getting an illegally driven car back, not discuss religion. You can’t demand to keep your hijab on if it’s against the rules of the court. What was she thinking!?
Judges don’t take demands from citizens!
“The same rules need to be applied to everyone. I will therefore not hear you if you are wearing a scarf on your head, just as I would not allow a person to appear before me wearing a hat or sunglasses on his or her head, or any other garment not suitable for a court proceeding,” she added.
When El-Allou continued to refuse to remove it, Marengo said that she in turn would refuse to hear her case. Panicking, El-Allou then played the welfare card, saying that she lives on welfare and has three children, and she needs her car back, but the judge wasn’t having any of it. Marengo eventually dismissed El-Allou from her courtroom.
This isn’t a Sharia court lady, no one cares if you’re Muslim. Follow the law and stop thinking your precious religion is above the law.
If she was trying to get a car back in the land of Sharia Law, then she would’ve been raped, murdered, raped again, stoned, brought back to life, dipped in acid, raped again, and finally fed to a goat who was also probably raped. She’s lucky to be a Muslim in Canada. Let her go to the homeland of Islam and see if she makes it to a court room.
She’s lucky to be in a court room, so take your hat off, get your car back, and go home and enjoy the rest of your day.
If I showed up to court in a top hat and DeRay McKesson’s ugly vest, they would tell me to take off the hat. Rules are rules. What if I’m balding and don’t like my head to be seen? Too bad. What if I’m Jewish and wearing a yarmulke? Too bad. If the judge tells you to do something, then shut up and do it. They are about to decide your fate in a case, so you better be on their good side.
No one cares about your religion. No one cares if you’re on welfare. No one cares about you in a court of law.
El-Allou is probably a wonderful person, but she still has to follow the rules of the court. That’s how it is and it won’t change.
If she wants her car back, then she needs to follow the rules and listen to the judge.
