The transition team for the Trump administration has had difficulty nailing down an a list celebrity to perform at the inauguration. Due to his controversial nature. The likes of John Legend, Celine Dion, and Garth Brooks have turned down offers. It appears the New York Rockettes will be performing. But ones Rockette was not happy about that at all. She took the opportunity to whine about being forced to perform for the President Elect.
New York Rockette Phoebe Pearl went to Instagram to complain about the job she had to do. Here is the post she posted via her Instagram account,
“I usually don’t use social media to make a political stand but I feel overwhelmed with emotion. Finding out that it has been decided for us that Rockettes will be performing at the Presidential inauguration makes me feel embarrassed and disappointed. The women I work with are intelligent and are full of love and the decision of performing for a man that stands for everything we’re against is appalling. I am speaking for just myself but please know that after we found out this news, we have been performing with tears in our eyes and heavy hearts #notmypresident.”
The statement was made attached to a picture of the female Rockettes yelling not my President. The picture was altered. MSG Entertainment who owns the Rockettes has not made any public comment on Pearl’s comments and there are no rumors they have commented behind closed doors.
However, their union president has issued a warning they are not allowed to boycott the inauguration and they must perform. Perhaps they forgot this is their job and they have no choice. It is not a hobby, it is what they do for a living. There job is to do as they are told and perform where they are told. These ladies need a major dose of reality. They should be jumping for joy at this historic moment in our country and there own lives.
