EpiPen Price Gouge CEO: Daughter Of A Democratic Senator And A Clinton Foundation Donor

EpiPen maker Mylan has been under fire in the press, facing tough questions amid growing outrage over massive price increases for the potentially life-saving treatment. After they acquired the EpiPen from another firm in 2008, the price has increased from $100 to up to $600 in some cases.

While opposition has been bipartisan liberals have taken the stage front and center, to blast this as yet another case of corporate greed in action. Democrat Congressman Elijah Cummings said, after the firm offered a discount on the EpiPen following criticism, “Offering a meager discount only after widespread bipartisan criticism is exactly the same tactic used by drug companies across the industry to distract from their exorbitant price increases, as our investigation has shown repeatedly. Nobody is buying this PR move anymore.”

Hillary Clinton took note as well, calling for them to immediately reduce the price of the EpiPen.Hillary Clinton blasted the price hike as outrageous, and just the latest example of a company taking advantage of its consumers. She added ““It’s wrong when drug companies put profits ahead of patients, raising prices without justifying the value behind them.”

Well, she’ll be shocked to learn whose behind that hike…

We’ve learned that the company responsible for the increase, Mylan Pharmaceuticals, is a Clinton Foundation donor helmed by the daughter of a Democratic Senator.

The CEO of Mylan is Heather Bresch, daughter of West Virginia Senator Joe Manchin. Mylan CEO Bresch reportedly earned a salary of close to $19 million in 2015, an increase in 671% over the same period in which the EpiPen rose in price.

In addition, Mylan has contributed up to $250,000 to the Clinton Foundation according to the foundation’s records. Despite the connections to Clinton, the Democratic nominee has been critical of Mylan Pharmaceuticals actions.

Sounds like a great person! So it’s not just repressive third-world regimes that donate to the Clinton Foundation, corrupt drug CEOs do as well.

Let’s be honest – considering how much she’s donated to the Clinton Foundation, do you think a President Hillary is more likely to help them justify this insane price hike, or continue asking them to lower it? I think the answer should be obvious.
