Eric Holder: It’s Racist to Say, “Let’s Take Our Country Back” [VIDEO]

The fable of “The Boy Who Cried Wolf” has a timeless lesson: If you sound a false alarm too many times, people will ignore you when there is a real emergency. It looks like Attorney General Eric Holder missed the point of that tale — and now he’s crying “racism” over things that are simply silly.

Not long ago, the attorney general appeared on ABC News and made a strange claim. According to Eric Holder, Republicans who criticize the Obama administration are actually racist.

“There’s a certain level of vehemence, it seems to me, that’s directed at me [and] directed at the president,” said Holder.

“You know, people talking about taking their country back,” he continued. “…There’s a certain racial component to this for some people. I don’t think this is the thing that is a main driver, but for some there’s a racial animus.”

Yes, that’s right: In Holder’s view, any conservative who says they are working on “taking their country back” from the liberals currently in office are actually speaking code.

In his mind, it’s impossible that they simply dislike the direction and policies of the government. The only explanation is racism.

Eric Holder has conveniently overlooked the fact that many black Americans have strong support from conservatives. Tim Scott, Condoleezza Rice, Ben Carson, and Allen West are just a few of the names that come to mind.

If Holder were correct, none of those figures would be successful. Instead, they are major stars on the right due to their ideas and principles. That point is quietly ignored by liberals, because it does not fit the narrative.

It is very revealing that the same man who admits that he identifies himself by his skin color above any other trait also sees vague racism everywhere he looks.

People such as Holder and Obama may be so used to playing the race card that they feel lost without it. The Obama presidency held the promise of moving the United States into a post-racial world, where words and actions mattered more than a person’s color.

Instead, both Holder and Obama appear completely addicted to bringing up race at every opportunity, and see nonexistent racism as the reason behind any criticism from the American people.

There is a long list of reasons why people are fed up with the direction of the country. Skin color isn’t one of them.
