James Kallstrom previously served at the assistant director for the FBI. And he has never gotten into the habit of endorsing politicians; he jokes that he has a low opinion of all of them, with the exception of a select few. But this election, he is breaking his habit of not endorsing anyone.
In an interview with Fox News, Kallstrom revealed that he is officially endorsing Donald Trump. “I’ve know him 40 years,” he explained. “He’s a good human being. He’s a generous person. He’s got a big heart. He’s done hundreds and hundreds of things for people without fanfare. He’s a good guy. He’s a patriot of this country.”
He continued why Trump had earned his vote, saying that people shouldn’t take his election persona too seriously. “And regardless of what he says, his acts show that he is not that person. He’s been in this Hollywood crowd that talks like that, a lot of people talk like that,” he said. “He doesn’t do these things. He’s a good guy. I’ve known his family from the time they were kids. Look at his children. Could you find a better family than he brought up in this country?”
Kallstrom explained that his low opinion of politicians especially applied to both Republican and Democrat leadership, so it makes sense that he would endorse someone that he views as an outsider. He also implored women to vote for Trump and put his past remarks to the side, insisting that if they want change, Trump is the way to go.
