Well, well, well. Just when we thought all hope was lost that Hillary would be prosecuted for all of her corrupt dealings, it looks like the FBI is giving it one more go around.
According to the Daily Caller, several FBI investigations have begun looking into the Clinton Foundation.
Agents working on the investigations are doing so from New York City, where the foundation is based.
Instead of lawyers from the Department of Justice working the case, prosecutors from the U.S. Attorney’s Office will be heading up the charge. DOJ lawyers are typically believed to be less aggressive than their U.S. Attorney counterparts.
With the DOJ out of the way, Loretta Lynch won’t get her say, and there won’t be any secret meetings with Bill Clinton where they talk about “grandchildren and golf” (Yeah, right), which is not a bad thing at all.
The lead prosecutor in the Clinton Foundation investigation is Preet Bharara, a Southern District of New York U.S. Attorney. Bharara is known as a no-BS kind of guy, and has a reputation for bringing down some pretty major players.
From the Daily Caller:
“Bharara is best known for securing convictions of prominent political figures, including former New York State Assembly Speaker Sheldon Silver. Silver had a seemingly intractable grip on power in the state for decades. He was convicted of accepting $4 million in exchange for helping a cancer researcher and two real estate developers.
He also secured the conviction of New York Republican Majority Leader Dean Skelos, who was sentenced to five years in prison for corruption.”
Bharara’s official biography states,
“As U.S. Attorney, Mr. Bharara has applied renewed focus on large-scale, sophisticated financial frauds by creating two new units – the Complex Frauds Unit and the complementary Civil Frauds Unit. The Civil Frauds Unit has collected close to $500 million in settlements since its inception, including multi-million dollar settlements with Deutsche Bank and CitiMortgage for faulty lending practices and other fraudulent conduct.”
Bharara successfully prosecuted New York State Senator Carl Kruger (A Democrat) for bribery. Kruger was sentenced to 7 years in prison.
According to Wiki:
“Bharara has charged several current and former elected officials in public corruption cases, including Senator Vincent Leibell, Senator Hiram Monserrate, NYC Councilman Larry Seabrook, and Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi.”
“Bharara announced the indictment of five consultants working on New York City’s electronic payroll and timekeeping project, CityTime, for misappropriating more than $80 million from the project. The investigation has expanded with five additional defendants being charged, including a consultant who allegedly received more than $5 million in illegal kickbacks on the projects.”
“On April 2, 2013, Bharara unsealed federal corruption charges against New York State Senator Malcolm A. Smith, New York City Councilman Dan Halloran and several other Republican party officials. The federal complaint alleged that Smith attempted to secure a spot on the Republican ballot in the 2013 New York City mayoral election through bribery.”
“In 2014, Bharara’s office began an inquiry into Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s decision to end the work of the Moreland Commission, an anticorruption panel. After a New York Times report documenting Cuomo’s staff’s involvement with the commission and subsequent statements by commissioners defending the Governor, Bharara warned of obstruction of justice and witness tampering.”
Having Bharara lead the investigation into the Clinton Foundation is like having Trey Gowdy lead it, perhaps even better. According to HotAir.com, “New York law enforcement have described Bharara as The Terminator. When he gets his teeth into something he simply does not stop – ever – and he’s impervious to threats from those in positions of power.”
With the FBI in complete control, and Obama’s corrupt DOJ out of the way, we could see some serious trouble for Hillary in the coming months. Hopefully she’s serving time in a not-so-cozy prison before the election.
