For the very first time, a Western journalist has been granted access to interview and observe militants from the Islamic State, and he has returned with a very harsh warning: the terror group is “much stronger and much more dangerous” than anyone in the West gives them credit for.
After months of negotiations with the ISIS group leaders, renowned German journalist Jürgen Todenhöfer was granted unprecedented access to the group’s inner workings in order to document life under the rule of these terrorists. During his trip, he passed through Mosul, Iraq and parts of Syria, which are both currently being ruled by the Islamic State.
After risking his life to speak with the terrorists on their terms, Todenhöfer posted about his trip and interaction with the militants on his Facebook page:
In an interview about his trip with CNN, Todenhöfer said that although the Islamic State only makes up one percent of the Muslim world, they are a force to be reckoned with.
“They are only one percent movement in the Islamic world. But this one percent movement has the power of a nuclear tsunami. It’s incredible,” he said.
“Isis is much stronger than we think here.” He said it now has “dimensions larger than the UK” and is supported by “an almost ecstatic enthusiasm that I have never encountered in any other warzone.”
Day-by-day ISIS continues to grow in power, and our administration refuses to acknowledge how strong this group has become. The White House calls them the “JV team,” but according to someone who has actually been there with them, they are much more capable than people think. They are conquering regions in the Middle East at a startling rate, and their presence in the Middle East is rapidly expanding with many areas now completely under the rule of Sharia Law.
ISIS has already started to shift their sights to Europe and America. They have been very successful in securing Sharia-controlled zones in many European countries and have been able to garner increasing support here in America. How long before they fully shift their focus here? When will our administration agree that ISIS is a threat to our nation and do something about it? Hopefully, they wake up and deal with the problem before something terrible happens here.
