Football Player Charged For Beating Dog, Still On Team And Practicing

They say football players aren’t very smart and I’ve often disagreed with the stereotype. However, what this really- really dumb wide receiver for Baylor did may prove me wrong. Ishmael Zamora, decided it would be a good idea to film himself beating his dog and having it posted on social media, Snapchat. That sounds like a smart thing to do, right?

The video is HORRIFIC to listen to because you can hear the poor dog screaming and crying when Zamora whips the dog with the belt. He called it ‘training’. He was reprimanding the dog for going to the bathroom in the wrong place. I am not sure where he got his ‘training’ techniques or how even good sense allowed him to believe that kicking and yelling at a dog is going to engender any good habits in a dog.

One of the former students at the school knew she had to turn him in the moment she saw the violent video. “I went to authorities probably about two hours after I saw the video,” Ball said. “Dogs can’t speak for themselves… I felt like something needed to be done.”

An investigation into the animal abuse lasted a little over a month. Zamora was charged with a Class C misdemeanor and given a citation that could cost up to $500. According to the police documents, Zamora sent the dog to live with his relatives in Houston.

The saddest part of it all is that Zamora is still practicing for and playing for the team. It appears that the violent way this football player treated this defenseless dog is not an issue for Baylor. A big warning to Baylor and their undisciplined athletes— allowing unbridled aggressions to continue unpunished will NOT end well for the school.

WARNING: Video of Zamora beating dog is violent and disturbing. You should just take my word for it that it will make you sick to your stomach and bypass watching it.
