From IJReview: Last month, a Black Hawk helicopter crash in the Gulf captured the lives of 7 Marines and 4 Army flight specialists. It was certainly a tough, tough day for the U.S. military.

Now, one of those Marines, Staff Sergeant Andrew Seif, has been laid to rest.

Seif, 26, was from Michigan and by all accounts was one heck of a Marine. The USO even awarded him its coveted Marine of the Year award in 2013.

Just days before the crash he received another honor, a Silver Star.

The funeral was held at Arlington National Cemetery. The decorated soldier was laid to rest among other heroes from our nation’s history.

It was a rainy, overcast day, fitting for an event that weighed heavy on the hearts of all that were in attendance.

Draped in the American flag, as friends and loved ones looked on, Staff Sergeant Seif was carried to his final resting place.

His wife Dawn, who stuck by his side at every awards ceremony, stood stoically as he was buried just steps from the Potomac River. Incidentally, Dawn is pregnant with their first child.

Here is a video of the service, so you can also pay your respects.

Thank you for your service, Sergeant Seif. Rest well.
