Debbie Wasserman Schultz is having a truly crappy week. WikiLeaks nailed her sorry hide with the release of damning emails that implicated her in plotting against Bernie Sanders to push Hillary Clinton as the party’s nominee. As the DNC chair woman, that comes off as just a wee bit biased and a whole lot manipulative. First, she was “quarantined” politically from the Democratic National Convention. Then she was banned from speaking or even attending. Then Debbie resigned as chair woman. But hey, not five minutes later, Hillary Clinton miraculously tapped her as her national campaign chair.
The not-so-much love fest continued this morning at a Florida delegates’ breakfast where Schultz was booed and heckled off the stage while attendees yelled, “Shame! Shame! Shame!” What a fantastic start to the official nomination of the Hildabeast. Slow clap.
From Zero Hedge:
The Florida lawmaker, who will resign after this week’s convention in response to the disclosure of emails that showed top members of the DNC working to boost Hillary Clinton’s primary bid, had to strain her voice to yell over the flurry of protestors who showed up to interrupt her speech.
“We need to make sure we move together in a unified way,” she said over shouts from the crowd.
As she spoke, people stood on chairs holding up signs that said “emails,” “No!,” and “Thanks for the ‘help,’ Debbie.”
The heckling didn’t stop even as Wasserman Schultz mentioned last night’s shooting in Fort Meyers, Florida, that left two dead and more than a dozen injured.
Wasserman Schutz was defiant, insisting that she would remain for the entire convention.
“We know the voices in this room that are standing up and being disruptive, that’s not the Florida we know. The Florida we know is united, the Florida we know will continue to create jobs.”
It was so bad and contentious, that Debbie had to be whisked away by security. Not good. It was unclear if she was escorted out to shouts of “Goldman Sachs.” Gee, this is out of the same playbook that Trump and Manafort used against Heidi Cruz. Hmmm. Curioser and curioser. If the Democrats aren’t careful, they are going to have a lynch mob on their hands.
Several delegates at the meeting could be seen holding signs reading “Division!” and “EMAILS,” referring to the WikiLeaks scandal. The embattled politician is slated to gavel in the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, even though her role in the event has been dramatically reduced after the email scandal. I guess the DNC changed their mind on banning her. The fireworks should be impressive.
