From BizPac: The FBI has issued a $5,000 reward for information leading to the perpetrator who committed a so-called hate crime against Muslims in Las Vegas.
Video surveillance captured images of a man wrapping door handles of the Masjid-e-Tawheed mosque in bacon. Bacon was also found around fences and on the ground.
It is well-known that pork products are forbidden in Islamic culture, and are sometimes used to intimidate Muslims.
There were no reported injuries or damage to property, but both the FBI and Las Vegas police are investigating the case as a possible “hate crime,” according to the AP.
Local KTNV news reported on the case, and said they received mixed reaction from the public.
“If you support actions like this that divide and induce hate within our country, YOU are the problem,” wrote one viewer.
Another viewer had an entirely different take.
“This really made my morning! This is what you get when you don’t condemn radical Islam. And this is just the beginning,” wrote another viewer.
