A conversation between Donald Trump and Billy Bush was leaked to the media, and the political world has exploded. The Washington Post obtained the audio, which many people have deemed offensive… and for good reason. In it, the newly married Donald Trump talks about trying to “f***” a married woman, and how he could go up to women and “grab them by the p*ssy”, because he’s a star, and stars can get away with anything.
“I moved on her, and I failed. I’ll admit it,” Trump can be heard saying. He continues, “I did try and f— her. She was married. And I moved on her very heavily. In fact, I took her out furniture shopping. She wanted to get some furniture. I said, ‘I’ll show you where they have some nice furniture.’ I moved on her like a bitch, but I couldn’t get there. And she was married. Then all of a sudden I see her, she’s now got the big phony tits and everything. She’s totally changed her look.”
Arianne Zucker, an actress, was soon spotted by Bush, who said, “Your girl’s hot as s—, in the purple.” Trump responded, “Whoa! Whoa!” And it’s here that the conversation took a more disturbing turn.
“I’ve got to use some Tic Tacs, just in case I start kissing her,” Trump is heard saying. “You know I’m automatically attracted to beautiful — I just start kissing them. It’s like a magnet. Just kiss. I don’t even wait. And when you’re a star, they let you do it. You can do anything.” “Whatever you want,” another voice, believed to be Bush’s, responds. “Grab them by the p—y,” Trump said. “You can do anything.”
Billy Bush, who is now a co-host on The Today Show, quickly responded. In a statement, he said, “Obviously I’m embarrassed and ashamed. It’s no excuse, but this happened 11 years ago — I was younger, less mature, and acted foolishly in playing along.” Trump likewise released a statement, but was less than apologetic. And he wanted to remind everyone that he’s not the only person who can be offensive. “This was locker-room banter, a private conversation that took place many years ago. Bill Clinton has said far worse to me on the golf course — not even close,” Trump said. “I apologize if anyone was offended.”
Hillary Clinton, of course, quickly jumped on the opporunity and slammed Trump for the conversation.
This is horrific. We cannot allow this man to become president. https://t.co/RwhW7yeFI2

The thing is, while what Trump said is inexcusable — and that Bill Clinton may have said crude, disgusting things also does not make Trump’s conversation any less deplorable — Hillary Clinton’s faux-outrage is ridiculous. Her husband has been credibly accused of rape, sexual harassment and assault, and is a serial philanderer. And Hillary’s response was not to stand by the women who say they were victimized by them; no, her response was to attack those women and do everything she could to discredit them. Pardon us for not believing that she’s as shocked and outraged as she pretends to be.
