Sports Illustrated swimsuit model Hannah Ferguson told Fox 411 that “it’s good to have gun knowledge” in a recent interview.
The Texas-born 23-year-old said that she herself was taught how to use a gun by her parents.
“Growing up, at a pretty early age we learned to shoot,” she said. “They started us with pellet guns.”
In fact, Ferguson’s father was a sniper in the U.S. Marines while her mother had been a Marine drill instructor. Ferguson knows all too well how important it is to be able to handle a gun.
“I feel like it’s good to have gun knowledge” she noted. “I feel like a lot of people are scared of guns. They think they’re bad and they really don’t know anything about it.”
In an age where young people are taught to fear guns and that weapons should be controlled by the government, Ferguson has chosen to stand out.
“I have a different outlook than most people,” the model explained. “I don’t think they should be taken away from people because any bad person who wants to find a gun is going to find a way to get it and then what?”
Ferguson said that it’s up to the public to educate themselves on the importance of gun ownership and the knowledge that goes along with it.
“We don’t have a way to protect ourselves? I feel like people should get more knowledge and understanding,” she concluded.
Liberals might think that they have influenced all young people to rally against gun ownership, but Ferguson is just one example of the new outspoken and conservative generation of Americans.
