It would seem that the illegal immigrant who was let go from county jail in Denver, even at the disregard of ICE’s requests that they hold him until they can deport him out of the country, is accused of murdering a man…All this just within weeks of being let go by local authorities.
Does that sound like the kind of law enforcement you want running your town? Absolutely not. We have laws for reasons. MANY of them are complete junk, but when it comes to protecting citizens from violent illegal criminals that shouldn’t even be in the country to begin with, there is no question.
Hold and deport them.
Ever Valles is 19 years old, and he’s being accused of murdering 32 year old Timothy Cruz on February 7, right after he robbed the man at a light rail station early in the morning.
The Denver Sheriff’s Department in late December had let Valles loose after he posted a $5,000 bond for theft charges. Before that happened, US Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents contacted the department and admonished them to keep the thug behind bars until they could get him deported.
Tragically, that didn’t happen.
ICE apparently had the suspect in their system as a ‘immigration priority’ since he had ties to gang activity in the city. They even asked the local police that if they were going to let him go, at least notify them ahead of time so that they could be there to put him in federal custody and get him out of the country.
But that notification was only sent 30 minutes before he was back on the streets to do harm to others.
Valles now faces first degree robbery and murder charges along with Nathan Valdez, a 19-year-old US citizen who also helped commit the horrific crime.
There was surveillance footage released that show masked suspects believed to be the two in custody.
