Islam Week At Schools In America, Administrators Demand Females Wear Hijabs To Show Support

Too often, school isn’t about education so much as it is about indoctrination. And nothing is more of a target than religion. While Christianity and Judaism is frequently under attack in our schools, Islam is being promoted at an alarming rate. The most recent example is an “Islam Appreciation Week” in Wisconsin, which even included asking women to wear hijabs in solidarity.

The appreciation week was sponsored by the University of Wisconsin Muslim Student Association and Wisconsin Union Directorate Global Connection, and the goal was to encourage college women to experience what it’s like to be a Muslim woman. The University of Wisconsin Muslim Student Association is one of 600 chapters across the country.

In case you aren’t familiar with the Muslim Student Association, its stated goal is to “facilitate networking, educating, and empowering the students of today to be citizens of tomorrow’s community”. But the reality is much more sinister. It was founded by the Muslim Brotherhood, a group with known terrorist ties. A 1991 memo written by the Muslim Brotherhood listed their goal as being “grand jihad, destroying and eliminating Western civilization from within”. The New York Times has described the original Muslim Student Association chapters as “little slices of Saudi Arabia”.

In the 1970s and 1980s, the MSA was under frequent investigation for terrorist activities. Former MSA president Abdurrahman Alamoudi was arrested on terror-related charges in 2004, and many of its members and leaders had connections to terror financing and support operations. Still, the MSA continues to grow and spread across the country.

The “Islam Appreciation Week” at the University of Wisconsin ended up being rather ill-timed, considering it started the same day that a Somali refugee went perpetrated a terrorist attack at the University of Ohio. Meanwhile, in Saudi Arabia, a woman is facing death threats and calls for her execution because she dared to go out in public without a hijab.

So while women in the Middle East live in actual oppression, threatened for not wearing a hijab, we have colleges in the United States encouraging women to wear them. And of course, there are no other religious appreciation weeks — no Christian, Jewish, Hindu, Catholic, or Buddhist Appreciation Weeks. And the liberal students ate it up. Anna Ambros, a sophomore, said she wore the hijab to open a dialogue and educate people, as well as break stereotypes. “I got some looks,” Ambros said. “I’m sure they were wondering why I was wearing a hijab because I never had before. I’m not a Muslim,” she said.

It isn’t just the University of Wisconsin, either. In August, the California State Assembly voted to declare August “Muslim Appreciation and Awareness Month”. “I am proud to celebrate the first ever Muslim Appreciation and Awareness Month by honoring generations of Muslim Americans for their many social, cultural, and economic contributions to California,” Democratic Assemblyman Bill Quirk said. Of course, he didn’t actually name any of these contributions to California. Liberals just seem to have an insane obsession with advancing Islam, no matter the cost.
