Leave it up to the mainstream media to draw a parallel between two people who (except for being first ladies) have nothing in common.
This week, Queen Rania took to social media to post a photo in honor of ringing in the New Year. She is spending her holidays with her family at home.

“Excited to be starting the New Year countdown!” Queen Rania posted along with a picture of her family. “With 10 days until the end of the year, I am happy to share our family picture for 2016.”
Meanwhile, Michelle is currently in Hawaii on one of her many, many vacations that are being funded by American taxpayers.
Perhaps it would be more fitting in light of Michelle’s elaborate spending sprees that she should also be referenced as “Queen Michelle,” however more importantly then the obvious optics and the role reversals, is how these two woman conduct themselves.
Queen Rania was born in Kuwait and forced to flee during the first Gulf War in 1991, and has spoken out against radical Islamic extremism, stating publicly; “A minority of irreligious extremists is using social media to rewrite our narrative and hijack our identity, that’s what ISIS is doing to the Arab world and all of us.”
She continued; “Silence’ of moderate Arabs has made them complicit in ISIS’ success, adding: ‘At the heart of the assault is an ideology. We must create a new narrative and broadcast it to the world, because if we don’t decide what our identity is and what our legacy will be, the extremists will do it for us.”
