On Tuesday, terrifying news broke of two U.S. Navy vessels holding ten American sailors, one of whom was female, being taken hostage by Iran. The sailors were taken to a remote Iranian island, and newly leaked pictures show the disturbing act the nation’s soldiers took against our female service member.
On Tuesday, the Pentagon lost contact with the two vessels patrolling the Persian Gulf after they were seized by the Revolutionary Guard hours before Barack Obama took to his podium to deliver his final State of the Union Address. According to MailOnline, Iran accused the vessels of spying on the country after they had engine problems and drifted into Iranian-controlled waters, or so the story goes.
“US naval force and their frigate showed an unprofessional behavior and had air and naval moves for 40 minutes in the area,” said Iranian General Ali Fadavi. “Certainly US presence in Persian Gulf and their passage has never been innocent and we do not deem their passage as innocent.”
The seizure comes on the heels of another act by Iran, where unguided missiles were launched within 1,500 yards of U.S. Navy aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman, and it highlights the weak policy Obama currently has with the country. Making the most recent incident even worse is that prior to agreeing to release our sailors and their vessels, Iran forced the most powerful nation in the world to apologize for traveling into their waters, but not before humiliating one of our soldiers.
Newly leaked photos show the group of nine men and one woman sitting without shoes inside of a holding area on Farsi Island, where they were detained, while Revolutionary Guard troops searched our boats. Some of the men appeared to be sleeping, and none of them looked as if they felt threatened, but there’s a notable issue with the only female sailor in the room – Iranian troops forced her to wear an Islamic veil, or hijab. Lovely. Believe me when I tell you, this was intentional so they could show the world the photos. Read More
