Now we find out that there were leaked text messages between one of Baltimore State’s Attorney Marilyn Mosby’s deputies and the lead investigator in the Freddie Gray case. This is ringing alarm bells over whether politics played a role in the decision to charge six officers with his death. We all know that of course it did. Duh. Mosby’s decision to prosecute these officers was sheer politics and racism. She thought she could use them as a stepping stone for her career whether they were guilty or not. And she almost got away with it.
From Young Conservatives:
Fox News’ Trace Gallagher reported that the leaked messages suggest that the prosecutors planned to charge the officers, regardless of what the evidence showed.
Detective Dawnyell Taylor reportedly revealed in case notes that she was handed a narrative by the prosecution that she read to the grand jury. She wrote that the narrative “had several things that I found to be inconsistent with our investigation.”
“I thought the statements in the narrative were misquoted,” the detective added.
Mosby wanted cops to pay. Especially white cops, but she would settle for any cop. She didn’t give a damn whether they were guilty or not. All charges were dropped against the six officers involved and now they are all suing Mosby. Good for them. She disparaged their reputations and ruined their lives, all for self gain. She should be disbarred. She accused those officers of everything from assault to murder.
This case sparked riots and violence in Baltimore. It destroyed people and how they live there. Things may never be the same again in that city and it is directly attributable to Marilyn Mosby and her actions to gin up racial animosity and cop-hatred.
After the charges were dropped, Mosby gave a disgraceful, emotional speech that got her both sympathy and severe backlash for what she spewed. She blamed all of this on the media and a corrupt criminal justice system. The blame lays squarely on her. She never had a case to begin with. Attorneys of three of the acquitted officers said Thursday that the prosecutor’s claims were based on a “fictitious narrative” of police brutality.
I have never seen such a blatant power trip as the one Mosby put on display. Not only did she not have any ethics whatsoever or integrity, she actively sought to cause even more chaos in the streets of Baltimore. For that, she should also be brought up on charges. Mosby is being sued for false arrest, false imprisonment, defamation or false light and other assertions. Her remarks broke the state’s code of professional conduct, which forbids lawyers from making “an extrajudicial statement” they know will prejudice a court proceeding.
Arrogant to the bitter end, Mosby had this to say as a parting shot:
“I’m anti-police brutality. And I need not remind you that the only loss — and the greatest loss — in all of this was that of Freddie Gray’s life.”
I hope she is sued out of existence, disbarred and prosecuted. That would be real justice.
