With elections just around the corner, things are beginning to heat up. It’s going to be a very interesting race with all the drama surrounding possible liberal candidates such as Hillary Clinton.
Excerpted from Rare: Another prominent liberal pundit is predicting a 2016 victory for Senator Rand Paul (R-Ky.) over former secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
Cenk Uygur, co-founder of the popular online series “The Young Turks,” told viewers yesterday that Paul had a more feasible plan for the Middle East than Clinton.
“If you’ve got Rand Paul running on a ‘Let’s stop messing around in the Middle East because we’re getting killed, and it’s doing absolutely no good for us’ campaign versus Hillary Clinton’s ‘Let’s keep doing the same stupid s*it we were doing before that you hated before’ campaign,” Uygur said. “If I was a betting man, and I am, right now I’d lay money on Rand Paul being the next president of the United States.”
Uygur, who has heavily criticized both parties in the past, wished there was a way to bet on politics, believing that putting money on Rand Paul in 2014 could win him some cash.
“The reality is, he now stands about a 25 percent chance of winning. By the time we have the 2016 election, the mess in the Middle East will be a lot worse,” Uygur said.
He also pointed out that a Clinton/Paul campaign would be the most interesting of the 2016 possibilities.
“All of a sudden national politics is a little interesting. It’s not absolutely clear who you should vote for,” he said.
