Liberals are in an uproar today after a video has been released showing quite the parody of the hit song “Bad, Bad Leroy Brown.” Altered to depict current events, the name of the parody reflected that of the incident in Ferguson, titled “Dead, Dead Michael Brown.”
The incident took place at the Glendale, CA Elks Lodge where a member of the club was holding a charity golf event. During that time, the event’s host, 32-year-veteran and retired LAPD Officer Joe Myers, took the microphone and belted out his make-shift version of the song to the 50-60 attendees that was at the time well received. Except by one that is.
The performance was recorded by an attendee that was “offended” by the song who began recording after realizing that no one was speaking out about it. It has since made its way to the internet where Liberals have come out full fledged to speak out about the “inappropriate” nature of the song.
According to TMZ:
Singer Gary Fishell is a P.I. who once worked as an investigator for the Federal Government. His lawyer tells TMZ, Fishell now realizes the song was “off color and in poor taste.” The lawyer adds, “He’s a goofball who writes funny songs.” We asked why Fishell would sing this in a room full of cops, and the lawyer replied, “He thought the room would get a kick out of it.”
Joe Myers tells TMZ, “How can I dictate what he [Fishell] says in a song?” Myers goes on, “This is America. We can say what we want. This is a free America.” Myers adds … he’s done this as an annual event for decades and has raised a lot of money for charity.
A trustee of the lodge has also come forward to say that although Myers is a member and had a right to hold his events on the premises, many other members were deeply disturbed by the song. According to the trustee, “It’s deplorable and inappropriate and the Lodge will take disciplinary action against [Fishell] and possibly the people who organized this event.”
For those wishing for a full transcript of the song, feel free to read that below:
Michael Brown learned a lesson about a messin’
With a badass policeman
And he’s bad, bad Michael Brown
Baddest thug in the whole damn town
Badder than old King Kong
Meaner than a junkyard dog
Two men took to fightin’
And Michael punched in through the door
And Michael looked like some old Swiss cheese
His brain was splattered on the floor
And he’s dead, dead Michael Brown
Deadest man in the whole damn town
His whole life’s long gone
Deader than a roadkill dog
Now that you’ve heard it (and even read it) for yourself, we want to hear from you. Did Myers push the envelope here or was it actually funny? Although the great thing about America is the fact that we have the right to say what we please, there are some things that should be withheld – though that isn’t necessarily the case here.
Are Liberals so ticked because they actually find it offensive or are they mad because the song points out everything that’s wrong with their narrative? Let us know in the comments.
