Democrats are reaching peak insanity in their plan to protest President Donald Trump’s coming speech on immigration tonight.
A growing number of Democrats are bringing young illegal immigrants as their guests to Trump’s address to a joint session of Congress. So far, there’s more than a half-dozen House and Senate Dems. pulling this stunt. The children they’re bringing are temporarily protected from deportation due to an Obama-era program known as Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals.
Clearly, these aren’t the kinds of illegals that are Trump’s main priority. It’s criminal illegal aliens (an oxymoron, I know) that are the main priority in the fight against illegal immigration, not kids.
As the media fawns over this stunt and the compassion we’re supposed to believe it shows, Donald Trump is bringing some guests of his own, As the Conservative Tribune reported:
Trump has invited the families of three American citizens murdered by illegal immigrants to sit beside Melania as her husband speaks.
Two of the guests, Jessica Davis and Susan Oliver, are widows of a detective and a sheriff’s deputy who were killed by an illegal immigrant during a shooting and car-jacking rampage three years ago. The suspect, who was deported twice but sneaked back in each time, was awaiting trial in California.
After the murder of Davis’ and Oliver’s spouses in 2014, Congress introduced an immigration enforcement bill, the Davis-Oliver Act, that would have empowered law enforcement with the resources needed to combat illegal immigration, as reported at the time by the Federation for American Immigration Reform.
Unfortunately, the bill never gained traction in Congress because of the consensus that then-president Obama would veto it.
Trump spoke in defense of it while campaigning last year. He stated that it would “enhance cooperation with state and local authorities to ensure that criminal immigrants and terrorists are swiftly really, swiftly identified and removed and they will go fast, believe me, they’re going to go fast.”
The last of the three guests, Jamiel Shaw Sr., lost his 17-year-old son nine years ago to an illegal immigrant murderer. Shaw was a staunch supporter of Trump during the presidential election and even spoke during the Republican National Convention last summer.
That’s a stark difference from who the Democrats are bringing.
Democrats honor the children of criminals, while Republicans are honoring the parents of victims.
